You will have access to a private smoke sauna located in a beautiful natural setting near the farm. We will heat the sauna for your use throughout the evening. The sauna master will introduce you to Estonian sauna culture, explain how to use the sauna, and discuss important rules; in the summer, he will also help you make sauna whisks.
The sauna ritual consists of three rounds of sauna sessions.
- In the first round, you will acclimate to the sauna’s climate, where the sauna master will guide you step-by-step, teaching how to make the most of your sauna experience in a way that is both enjoyable and beneficial to your health.
- In the second round, steam is released, and the focus shifts to cleansing and discussing the health benefits of the sauna, using sea salt or wood ash, which have deep cleansing effects.
- In the third round of our smoke sauna session, our sauna master will guide you through the art of whisking, demonstrating on one individual before giving everyone a chance to try their hand at the delightful practice themselves.
The smoke sauna has two rooms: a pre-room and a steam room, each capable of accommodating 5-6 people at a time. True to a traditional smoke sauna, the heating occurs in an open oven and the smoke exits through openings in the walls. The sauna is heated almost all day, after which it is thoroughly ventilated. There is plenty of intense steam for whisking for at least 5-7 hours, and the sauna remains warm until morning.
Smoke saunas are extremely beneficial for health and are suitable for anyone who values an authentic experience and self-healing. Visiting a smoke sauna provides cleansing for both the body and soul. The old folks believed in the therapeutic effects of the smoke sauna and regarded it as a healer for both the spirit and body.
If you desire an even more delightful experience, you can order separately:
- WHISKING for 30 minutes – price 40€
- HOT TUB – price 20€ unheated, 60€ heated in summer / 80€ heated in winter
Important:
- Please inform us of your desire to use the smoke sauna at least 24 hours in advance
- The smoke sauna is preheated, and the fire under the stove will have down by the time of the sauna session. The heat is stored in the stove's stones – throw hot water on them to create steam.
- The rooms are completely smoke-free because the right type of wood is used and the sauna is properly ventilated.
- Smoke saunas usually do not have electricity, and oil lamps, candles, and other open flame sources are used for lighting in the dark. Caution must be exercised when using these!
- In the sauna, use water (especially warm water) efficiently, as it is not available in unlimited amounts.
- Please note: Alcoholic beverages are not consumed in our sauna.
